I wanted to share something that I just read.  I guess some people in this word do not care about what is right and what is wrong. Some just lives by their own rules regardless what society rules are.... of course I am talking about Bush. Read this from the Associate Press that was just realeased......

Bush to veto bill banning waterboarding

The White House says President Bush will veto legislation on Saturday that would have barred the CIA from using waterboarding — a technique that simulates drowning — and other harsh interrogation methods on terror suspects.

Bush has said the bill would harm the government's ability to prevent future attacks. Supporters of the legislation argue that it preserves the United States' right to collect critical intelligence while boosting the country's moral standing abroad.

"The bill would take away one of the most valuable tools on the war on terror, the CIA program to detain and question key terrorist leaders and operatives," deputy White House press secretary Tony Fratto said Friday.

The bill would restrict the CIA to using only the 19 interrogation techniques listed in the Army field manual.

The legislation would bar the CIA from using waterboarding, sensory deprivation or other coercive methods to break a prisoner who refuses to answer questions. Those practices were banned by the military in 2006, but the president wants the harsh interrogation methods to be a part of the CIA's toolbox.

Backers of the legislation, which cleared the House in December and won Senate approval last month, say the interrogation methods used by the military are sufficient.

"President Bush's veto will be one of the most shameful acts of his presidency," Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., said in a statement Friday. "Unless Congress overrides the veto, it will go down in history as a flagrant insult to the rule of law and a serious stain on the good name of America in the eyes of the world."

He noted that the Army field manual contends that harsh interrogation is a "poor technique that yields unreliable results, may damage subsequent collection efforts, and can induce the source to say what he thinks the (interrogator) wants to hear."

I am so happy that I was finally able to go back to work yesterday for the first time since around Thanksgiving!  I have been home recouperating from a broken leg (stress fracture of the head my tibia- around the knee).  I am no longer using crutches but am now using a quad cane. I was getting very fast with the crutches but am now back to being as slow as a turtle since I can now bear weight on my leg.  I am back to work at the park district on restricted duty but I am so happy to be back to being with all of my friends. :) i am only working a few days a week, but I am happy to just be back to work again.  I was so worn out, but happy!

Also, in the future if you are debating whether to open the door or offer help to someone with a disability.  Do offer it.  If they do not need it, they will tell you thank you for the offer and not feel offended.  It is so hard for me to get around, try to carry anything and open those heavy doors to get into buildings while walking around on crutches and/or a cane.  I could open the door and hold the door open with the crutch, but it is not as easy with this cane.  Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

from Yahoo Tech Blog Today's issue

A frightening new computer virus is making the rounds, and it's coming in through an unlikely source: Those cute, innocuous, and unavoidable digital picture frames.

SFGate has the story of a nasty piece of malware that has been riding along with Insignia brand photo frames, which were largely sold in Best Buy and Sam's Club stores (and possibly other outlets) over the holidays. The virus, which I've yet to find an actual name for, is reportedly "easy to clean," according to Insignia, but at least one IT expert (who was running antivirus software) tells a horror story about it, saying it took him 12 hours to rebuild his own, infected machine. All from simply plugging the frame into his PC.

This is hardly the first time that a technology product has shipped with a virus infection. Apple made headlines in 2006 for shipping a Windows virus on numerous video iPods. In recent years, products from Creative Labs, TomTom, Seagate, and even a cheap McDonald's gadget have come from the factory bearing unwanted gifts.

But infected photo frames represent an even trickier scenario since many of the people using them are likely to be computer novices as opposed to, say, those plugging in a high-end GPS.

Worried about your own new frame? The good news is that the damage appears limited to Insignia frames and only the 10.4-inch model (model number NS-DPF-10A). If you're sitting on one of these that you haven't yet plugged in, don't connect it to your computer; call Insignia at 877-467-4289 for instructions on what to do. If you have a different model frame, you should be OK for now.

Over the weekend, I went to see Cloverfield.  I was really anticipating to see this movie.  The majority of this movie was made like a home movie.  The first 15-20 minutes of the movie was very confusing. I was thinking...is this the movie I cam to see? I was getting motion sickness with all the motion in the movie. The last half of the movie was very good after the action started to pick up.  Overall, I would give this movie a 4 out of 5 stars. I know that I went to the movie to see what the creature looked like. I thought it would look like godzilla, but it didn't.  Who wants to see what the monster looks like?  I took a couple of pictures of it and was debating about posting a pic of it.  I do not know if it is permissable or not. Let me hear what you think.

Today, I learned of an illness that I was unaware of.  It was brought to light from a dear friend of mine who is a director for Foxx TV.  There is a tv personality in Detroit who suffers from this illness.  Vitiligo is an illness that affects the pigment of one's skin.  It can be herditary in nature.  I remember growing up during the time when people were saying that Michael Jackson was making himself to become white.  I heard all of the stories from him bleaching his skin to taking shots.  None of these rumors are true.  He has a skin disease called Vitiligo.  He use to wear that one glove on his hand to hide his changes in his skin and makeup to cover up his imperfections.  Below are some links so you can learn more too.  I felt so very bad for him.  People are so cruel to those who are different.  Take a moment to learn about others so you can not be one of the ignorant people.

Today is my religious holiday.  It is called Eid Adha.  Eid Adha relates to the same story that you know from the Bible and Torah where Abraham was told by God to kill his son as a sacrifice to God.  Abraham was a very obedient servant of God so he planned on doing what God had asked of him... sacrificing his beloved son. So as Abraham was ready to sacrifice his son then God sent a sheep/ram for him to sacrifice instead of his son.  Life is a test for all of us. This was one of the ultimate tests for Abraham. This day is also  the day that those pilgrims who go to hajj in Arabia. They has to perform 3 tasks in celebrating their Eid (Festival).  They must go to Jumarat to throw stones at the pillars, men have to shave their hair, and slaughter a lamb.  A portion of the lamb goes to the poor, a portiion is divided among others and the remaining is for that pilgrim's family consumption.  Muslims go for the Eid prayer on this day. Eid Adha last 3 days overseas but we really dont have a 3 day holiday here in the USA for this holiday. After prayer, we give gifts.  We are to give charity to the poor people and invite friends to our home and visit the elderly.

I grew up as a Christian but while in college, I studied all of the world religions on the quest to find what I truly believe.  I learned that my teacher who taught world religons really did not know as much as he profess to know.  He tried saying that Muslims worship Mohammad like Christians worship Jesus.  That is the farthest from the truth.  Muslims worship only God alone. They do not take a mediator between themself and God. They go straight to God.  There are many prophets in Islam and Muslims respect them all. Mohammad was the last prophet and the Quran, the Muslim's holy book, was revealed through the angel Gabriel to Mohammad.  Mohammad did not write the Quran.  He could not read nor write.

I converted to become a Muslim back in 1988. This was by my personal choice after much studing.  I found peace with Islam in my life. Each person has to search within him or herself to see what they actually believe and what makes sense to them.  We all need to have religious tolerance for others regardless of what title we call ourselves.

Hi!

I just posted some of my pictures that I have taken while going to petting zoos, zoo, or a farm when I took some of my clients out on a field trip.  Who else can say they get paid to play all day?  I work for a special recreation association which is part of 16 park districts in the chicago burbs.  We do all kinds of fun things with kids and adults with various kinds of disabilities and enable them to participate in leisure activities that they might not otherwise be able to participate in.  In the pictures for this album, I have taken some of the pictures of the animals we have seen.  I had other pictures but I couldn't post them because they had the kids in it.  I hope you enjoy them.  There is one animal that I have yet to figure out what kind it is.  It looks like it is in the family like lambs or apacha but I am not sure.  If you know.... please let me know too.

Enjoy!

I just got a new laptop computer last week.  On the new computer, it had Vista Home Premium.  So far, I do not like vista as my operating system.  To be quite frank... I think it sucks!!!!  Many of the programs that I try to run does not work though it worked fine on my old computer that had Windows XP pro on it.  I went to Best Buys the other day to try to find the original Windows XP Pro full edition software so I can change operating systems, and they only had  Vista.  Even some of the software that I sell online will not work with vista.  Does anyone know of any updates or patches to help?  I would greatly appreciate it!

Best wishes,

Vickie

President Bush lead us into war through his lies.  He is trying to get us into a war with Iran by lying about saying that Iran is working on Nuclear Weapons  when it has been proved that "NO IRAN IS NOT WORKING ON NUCLEAR WEAPONS!"

IraniansrespondtoU.S.estimate
Iranians respond to U.S. estimate

   BushtoIran:'Comeclean'
Bush to Iran: 'Come clean'

Does that sound familar?  Bush kept telling us and the congress that Iraq has Weapons of Mass Destruction.... yet, they did not have them!  The American  public has no idea of what really is going on around the world.  Most Americans only knows the news that they have been fed by the US Media.  How many of you all watch and read media from other countries?  I am sure not many of us.  I have been watching and reading news from around the world and finding out how much our media are Big Liars!

People wake up!  The United States is not in Iraq to free this country nor was it to save the world from weapons of mass distruction!  And the United States is not in Iraq because of 911.  Iraq had nothing to do with 911!  President Bush has us in Iraq for one simple reason..... O I L !

Did you know that not long after 911, Bush re-opened his oil wells?  I saw it first hand!  Before there were oil wells that seemed to be deserted in Texas, but after 911,  those oil wells were re-opened.  Do you think that the cost of gas at the pumps is due to the various factors such as the US being in the Middle East fighting?  Or just the basis of economics... supply and demand?  No!  Gas prices are artificially manipulated in order to increase the wealth of those wealthy oil men (yes Bush and his buddies too).

Look at all the rights of people that we hold so dearly as a US Citizen.... these rights are being taken away from us, yet we do not fight for those rights... we let them slip by us as a matter of convenience!

Wake up America!

Hi Everyone!

I just watched the speech that was given by Romney.  This speech was awesome!  He pointed out something very true about the United States.  This country was founded on freedom of religion but yet only freedom of religion we have is if you are of a special group.  This is not how it is suppose to be!  It shouldn't matter if someone is Protestant, Catholic, Jew, Muslim, Hindu, or yes, even atheist! We all are suppose to have the same rights to practice our religion, yet too often  we are hypocrits when it comes to practicing what we preach!  We (American in the past and yes even in the present) persecute individuals because of their religion.  About 50 years ago.... the Protestants could not see a "Catholic" become the President of the United States.  Today, Muslims are persecuted everywhere as if they are a terrorist just because they have the title of a "Muslim".  And now Romney is running for President of the United States and instead of looking at his merits or lack of merits, we look at his as a "Mormon" running for President instead of an American running for President.  It doesn't matter if I am for him as President or not... what matters is stopping this persecution of others because they bear a title of whatever their religion is instead of what each person's merits are.

The ball is in your court.... are you going to confess that you believe in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights as an American,  if you are an American and defend these rights of each individual in practice, not just by lip service or are you going to be a hypocrit and say "I believe in it in theory but not in practice"?  The choice is up to you!!!!!

Hi,

My name is Vickie. I live in the burbs of Chicago but am originally from a small town in Indiana.  I am a recreation therapist who works for a SRA (special recreation association through the park districts) as a head instructor for recreational programs for both adults and children with disabilities.  I am a very strong advocate for others especially those with disabilities and those who are oppressed.  I am also a Special Olympics Coach.

I would like to encourage everyone to help with the Special Olympics in  your area.  It does not take alot of time to help someone.  There is so many opportunities to volunteer especially during the Spring games which is a huge track and field event.  We are always looking for someone to be a chaperone to help a child with a disability participate in a track and field event. If you live in the Chicagoland area, I can help set you up with a volunteer position with Special Olympics.  There are so many opportunities and so few people who knows how to go about becoming a volunteer. If you are interested, just send me a message so I don't over look it.

Best wishes,

Vickie

Hi,

I just read a joke and I thought that I would share it with you.  Pardon the content but I didn't change a word of it to keep it intact.

Enjoy!.....

An extremely modest man was in the hospital for a series of tests, the last
of which had left his bodily systems extremely upset. Upon making several
false alarm trips to the bathroom, he decided the latest episode was another
and stayed put. He suddenly filled his bed with diarrhea and was embarrassed
beyond his ability to remain rational.

In a complete loss of composure he jumped out of bed, gathered up the bed
sheets, and threw them out the hospital window.

A drunk was walking by the hospital when the sheets landed on him. He
started yelling, cursing, and swinging his arms violently trying to get the
unknown things off, and ended up with the soiled sheets in a tangled pile at
his feet.

As the drunk stood there, unsteady on his feet, staring down at the sheets,
a hospital security guard (barely containing his laughter) who had watched
the whole incident walked up and asked, "What the heck is going on here?"

The drunk, still staring down replied: "I think I just beat the sh*t out of
a ghost"
