Sad Day
6:33 AM on Feb. 16, 2008

I just saw a sad incident this day lunch time in my work place. My work place is actually located close to one of the oldest wooden

high school buildings here in our place and I just saw it burn like hell. I felt sad looking at my alma mater consumed by flames.

I didn't have a camera with me so I only used my phone to capture some images of it while burning. It's a good thing because

it's a Saturday and no one was in the building when the incident happened. For sure I will miss that old school building,

its been 14 years since I left the school and I was hoping they would change it to a concrete building because I had a hunch

before that it's going to end this way. My hunch came true this day, I didn’t wished for it to happen but maybe it’s really

time for it to be changed.

I agree with you Musiclover, I think these old buildings and other properties are just wasted. The maintenance of these properties is the responsibility of the owners and for me these properties that remain unused simply reflect the mismanagement and carelessness of the owners on their properties.

It is sad that a lot of old buildings/empty buildings are either vandalized, burned or taken down. A few years ago we lived in a city that was remodeling old, empty mills into beautiful lofts. It is a great idea to try to reuse some of these older buildings so they just don't sit there empty and useless.

Aww, sorry to hear that. Now there were times when I wished my school would just burn to the ground, but that was just me venting, and I never REALLY wanted it to happen. I think I would be sad and nostalgic at the same time if this happened to any of my old schools.
